welcome to my blog

Maricruz here! Welcome to my little corner of the web where I share my creative side. I’m based in central Houston, where I freeze moments in time for families. I believe every moment is a beautiful memory that deserves to be captured.

i don’t even know where to start….. this little girl right here is just AMAZING…. she loves the beach and she rocked her session as you can see and these are only a few of my favorite shots.

Mom and Dad get ready because she is going to be a heartbreaker.

Thank you so much for trusting me and letting my vision come to live, i had a blast and i can’t wait to go back.

Keeping it real folks.. like always. it’s been crazy around here and i mean literally but always with the right attitude and moving forward.. that’s what we do right? So with that being said this summer i was taken back to the beach several times and my love for it grew and grew even more to the point where i just wanted to stay there… i mean our trip to Padre Island was amazing and i wish i lived closer but i will settle with being in the same state and i can’t wait to go back.

Galveston as you know and if you don’t know it’s not that pretty but look at this model she made it looked gorgeous so YEAH take me to the beach and this will happen i promise. beautiful light, beautiful locations and I will make your dreams come true. believe me when i say it. working on something very special for next year’s spring so mark your calendars for beach minis… i will be scouting for new locations as well so that should be interesting.

Be sure to leave sweet Kylee some love and if you would like to see more images check out my Facebook page and Google + as more images have been posted over the past few days. Email me or use the contact tab for more details on beach sessions.

dream big…. Galveston Beach Photographer

we all start somewhere with photography and i can say I’m at a very good happy place with my work and what i have to offer… I recently closed down my personal Facebook and opened a new one because like any other photographer i had thousands of other photographer pages on my feed, i loved seeing their breathtaking photos but i would always question my self, am i that good? why do they have 100likes and i have only two? do people hate me? is my work not good enough? I was tired of asking my self the same question over and over  so after thinking it over i came to the conclusion that i was the problem, i was thinking too much… when i was younger i would tell my friends let the world spin and let them talk about you.. don’t let that keep you up at night because it’s not good for the mind or your heart… it takes a toll on you sometimes and i decided that wouldn’t be me anymore. so with that being said look forward not backwards only think positive and if you are happy with your work as well as your clients move forward and if you keep busy you won’t have time to worry about these little things. 😉

i went to the beach last week for a lovely session with this beauty and it was just amazing..

last time i did a beach session was back when i started my business back in 2012 and i was a started like anyone else, didn’t really know how to shoot at the beach so my session was at 10:30am clearly that was not a good idea images where way over exposed clients could hardly open their eyes do to the shiny bright sun it was just a bad experience overall and i told my self i would never go back, not unless i knew what i was doing.. no one helps for free and if they do you will be blessed to have them in your life… so these past years i shot at the beach only for my self never really shared anything until recently and i got a lot of good reviews from them and made me feel like i had finally concord shooting decent beach sessions.. with that being said get ready for next Spring because this lady will be offering beach minis and i hope you choose me to capture those wonderful moments with your family.

If you are a photographer and have questions about shooting at the beach feel free to contact me with several questions and i will gladly answer them it wasn’t easy for me and i would love to help you out if you have any questions.

We started out summer with a trip to south texas… i’ve never been to any other beach besides galveston just because it’s literally like my back yard only  40 minutes away from me, yes i know there are many beautiful beaches out there and maybe one day i will make time to take a week or even two week vacation to one but for now I’m more than happy to travel south and have fun at padre island it’s so beautiful there, i have never been in blue water before which is sad very sad lol, and padre had the most amazing water ever. I was amazed and if you are coming from galveston you will be to so don’t think I’m over doing it, we all had such a great time and you can tell who had the most fun my little fish.. who ran from one side to another back and forth with her dad and enjoyed just about very second of it, of course she wanted to stay there for ever and ever but reality hit once she saw we were crossing the bridge and seconds later she was completely nocked out.

One of these images made it to love photographs beautifully this week and i’m so honored they chose my image to be featured on their blog, so be sure to check them out and leave them some love.

Did you see that black and white shot?? mmm yeah it’s something a little different but I’m loving it and it’s my WOW image this week.. I love it so much that if i had a beach house i would print it in a huge canvas and hang it in my living room but for now printing it in a 5×7 and hanging it my hallway to remember our padre trip.
